Leedin
Measured Time, Textiles, Sand

❧ Played by Rebecca
Appearance: A female pre-teen, approximately 12-14 years old. Skinny and somewhat monochrome in her appearance; black hair in intricate braids, brown skin, and gray eyes. Her typical clothing makes up for it -- she looks a bit like she dressed from a very colorful ragpile (and/or Regretsy) though her arms are bare. Normally she is doing something with her hands and fabric/string -- spinning yarn, working a hand-loom, sewing, knitting, crocheting… or even playing string games. Her voice is quiet and a bit hoarse.

As Leedin can accept time as a sacrifice, her own appearance will change with that. Repeated use of her healing/revival ability -- actually manipulating time to cut out the moment of injury -- or aging someone down will age her; sacrificing young animals/plants or aging someone up will de-age her.

Characteristics: Patient, meticulous, industrious, good memory, mentally myopic, introverted, passive-aggressive, fidgety, OCD tendencies.

Likes: Timeliness; behavior appropriate for one's status in life; clothing, especially ornate clothing; open areas; festivals marking time (birthdays, anniversaries, new years, planting/harvest festivals); tailors, weavers, seamstresses and other cloth-working professionals; calendars and clocks; sand and gravel; braided or otherwise done-up hair.

Dislikes: Hurry; idleness; ripped cloth; simple togas and other 'wrap unadorned cloth around you' outfits (she'll forgive you if it's ornate cloth); leather/fur clothing; trees/large plants; losing track of time; ground cover of plants (crops would be an exception); tangles; shaving one's head.
Shrine: A meter high red sandstone basin. The basin is circular, and filled with fine, white sand. In the center is set a black sundial. An unseen light creates a number of different shadows, all at odds with the normal light sources of the shrine room. The pattern circles about once a day, but also can be seen to be slowly changing from day to day.

Ritual: Sacrifices must be buried in the sand, where they will turn to sand themselves.

Leedin can be contacted by speaking her name and placing one's hands on the sand.

2 Units The fur or feathers of a large, rare or difficult to kill animal (moss lion, etc.)
Keeping a diary for a week
3 Units A live, newborn animal
A moderate work of crafting (say a week of part-time or a full day)

5 Units A masterwork of crafting (month or more of part-time work, at least a week of full-time work)

Note: Time tomfoolery, which includes Leedin’s healing abilities (unless you are Muppet or otherwise made of cloth), and some repair work, requires a temporal sacrifice: either seeds/eggs/live, newborn animals or a willing person to take the time.

Note: Leedin tends to give discounts for tools (since they get used in her name). She also may offer tools on ‘credit’, if you make something for her first. While she will repair clothing, she gets cranky about having to do it, and will generally only do so for articles of sentimental value.
