Albinia

Albinia
Science, Responsibility, Ice

❧ Played by Sair
Appearance: As a human, she’s a grown woman, with pale skin, long light colored hair, and light blue eyes. She will never smile and either has a distant look or disapproving look most of the time.

Characteristics: Stern, serious, cold, reserved, scientific, socially awkward, rational.

Likes: Order, rules, responsibility, self-control, logic, science (Of all kinds, except mad scientist science.), scientific method, ice, frozen goods, ice sculptures (the one form of art she really enjoys), her sister, and she shares a joy of balance, dichotomy, and most importantly, popcorn with her sister.

Dislikes: Chaos, rule breaking, lack of control, irresponsibility, idiocy, mad scientist art, spicy food, hot drinks, most other forms of art, most things Kalidas likes, people who do not like popcorn, her sister, people messing with her sister.
Shrine: An ice sculpture of a circular archway. The ice never melts and it’s cold to the touch, though people won’t ever get stuck to it. (Unless they lick it, in which case, they’ll be stuck there for an hour at least.)

Ritual: To summon her, the person needs to put their hand on the statue and list off some science type fact. (It does not necessarily need to be correct, just be something sciencey.)
❧ Will Take❧ Will Give
  • The heart of any beast
  • The roots of plants

  • Science supplies - Beakers, tweezers, magnifying glass, flashlights, nothing too fancy.
  • Chemicals - Think chemistry set level at this point.
  • Condoms and Chastity Belts.
  • Weird Medications - Not normal pill stuff.

Small act of responsibility/self control
Easily gained science items
3-4 Units Heart
Small science experiments
Larger acts of responsibility/self control
Made ice
Harder gained science items
Items of balance/dichotomy
5 Units Good quality ingredients
Heart of ridiculously dangerous beast (like Red Lizagons)
Large science experiments
Acts of responsibility in taking care of others
Teaching others to be responsible
Higher Units require personal touches because Albinia is finicky like that.

1 Pen
1 Notebook
2 Units Condoms
Learn a science thing
1 Chastity Belt
1 Girl Drink

1 Lap coat
1 Pair of Glasses
1 Pair of Work Gloves
1 Pair of Safety Goggles
4 Units Weird medications (consult for first purchase)
5 Units Good quality medications (no side effects)

NOTE: For those who are approved to be assistants or guinea pigs, you basically get a unit pay.
Assistants (teacher): 3 Units per class.
Assistants (experiments): 7 Units per experiment session
Guinea Pigs: 10 Units per time you’re being tested on

NOTE 2: If there’s a high chance your character will be dickish to her/does terribly irresponsible things that hurt other people on a regular basis/is one of those guys who murders people, it would probably be better to actually thread that out because Albinia is finicky.

How temporary?

Hypothetically, would it be possible to freeze all the water that currently fills the lower floors?

It might kill or paralyze what creatures are down there, if it could be done. But removing that much ice might be a more laborious process than removing the equivalent in water.

At the least, if ice could be sustained thick enough at the walls to seal anything larger than mere cracks-- to form new walls in themselves-- that would buy time for draining and making more permanent repairs.

It would depend on the placement of the ice. And that, in turn, on the structure of the building itself.

...which is another question. As it stands, will this building be at risk of collapse under its own weight, or that of the water outside, if the water be drained and the walls sealed?

Do you know anything of the state of the floors below? Their layout, or the extent and locality of the damage.

You spoke of domains.

I have not seen any among you who claim one resembling masonry, or architecture.

...I know of structures.

But knowledge without the means to put it in effect in time is of little use.

I cannot summon a wall that would hold up to the weight of tonnes into being, though I know its construction down to the last brick.

That requires materials, and the means of moving them, and the time to move them in. But the third is something we are running all too short of, unless the first and the second can be made haste by means beyond normal physical labor.

Agon governs alloys. Leedin, sand, clay, gravel. Dellen, water.

What would it cost, to freeze the creatures below?
