Albinia

Albinia
Science, Responsibility, Ice

❧ Played by Sair
Appearance: As a human, she’s a grown woman, with pale skin, long light colored hair, and light blue eyes. She will never smile and either has a distant look or disapproving look most of the time.

Characteristics: Stern, serious, cold, reserved, scientific, socially awkward, rational.

Likes: Order, rules, responsibility, self-control, logic, science (Of all kinds, except mad scientist science.), scientific method, ice, frozen goods, ice sculptures (the one form of art she really enjoys), her sister, and she shares a joy of balance, dichotomy, and most importantly, popcorn with her sister.

Dislikes: Chaos, rule breaking, lack of control, irresponsibility, idiocy, mad scientist art, spicy food, hot drinks, most other forms of art, most things Kalidas likes, people who do not like popcorn, her sister, people messing with her sister.
Shrine: An ice sculpture of a circular archway. The ice never melts and it’s cold to the touch, though people won’t ever get stuck to it. (Unless they lick it, in which case, they’ll be stuck there for an hour at least.)

Ritual: To summon her, the person needs to put their hand on the statue and list off some science type fact. (It does not necessarily need to be correct, just be something sciencey.)
❧ Will Take❧ Will Give
  • The heart of any beast
  • The roots of plants
  • Science experiments of any kind
  • Things for doing science with - plants, metals, things that create flame, glass, etc.
  • Acts of responsibility, and self control.
  • Frozen food stuff
  • Ice sculptures
  • Ice made in ways that did not come from the freezer.
  • Something presenting balance or dichotomy.

  • People volunteering to be her guinea pigs
  • People helping her research her experiments
  • Teaching others to be responsible.
  • Caring for a pet, a sick person, or a family member/child.
  • Experimental Mediciations - All medication in pill form, sleeping pills, pain pills, acid reducers, anti-depressants, etc., but there is risk of side affects if paid for cheaply.
  • Science supplies - Beakers, tweezers, magnifying glass, flashlights, nothing too fancy.
  • Chemicals - Think chemistry set level at this point.
  • Condoms and Chastity Belts.
  • Weird Medications - Not normal pill stuff.
  • Ice
  • Girly drinks - Really weak alcohol.
  • Ice cream, popsicles, frozen food, popcorn, saltine crackers, chicken soup and bouillon for broth.
  • Lab coats, working gloves, glasses, safety goggles.
  • Clipboards, pens, paper.
  • Will teach people SCIENCE things.
  • Classes.
  • Plant domestication.

Items to Units
WorthOffering
1-2 Units Roots
Sub-par ingredients
Scientific info
Small act of responsibility/self control
Easily gained science items
3-4 Units Heart
Small science experiments
Larger acts of responsibility/self control
Made ice
Harder gained science items
Items of balance/dichotomy
5 Units Good quality ingredients
Heart of ridiculously dangerous beast (like Red Lizagons)
Large science experiments
Acts of responsibility in taking care of others
Teaching others to be responsible
Higher Units require personal touches because Albinia is finicky like that.

Units to Items

2 Units Condoms
Learn a science thing
1 Chastity Belt
1 Girl Drink
1 Clipboard
3 Units 1 Class
1 Lap coat
1 Pair of Glasses
1 Pair of Work Gloves
1 Pair of Safety Goggles
4 Units Weird medications (consult for first purchase)
5 Units Good quality medications (no side effects)

NOTE: For those who are approved to be assistants or guinea pigs, you basically get a unit pay.
Assistants (teacher): 3 Units per class.
Assistants (experiments): 7 Units per experiment session
Guinea Pigs: 10 Units per time you’re being tested on

NOTE 2: If there’s a high chance your character will be dickish to her/does terribly irresponsible things that hurt other people on a regular basis/is one of those guys who murders people, it would probably be better to actually thread that out because Albinia is finicky.

[Yes. yes, I did. Digging in his pocket for a list of what the gods take. :|a]

I'm not supposed to go out past the hallway like this, so I can't bring any hearts or anything, but... I could do an experiment, or we could talk about science stuff. Or I guess i could come up with something for balance.

[Going to take a minute to think about that. More remembering forward is going on here. :|a]

The way light refracts going into different materials like glass or water, and the rules of electromagnetic force, and Earth's solar system, and how gravity works, and how the inside of the Earth is, and the anatomy of fish and lizards, and this experiment with rats that sounds like it didn't have a very good sample selection process, and some other stuff.

Kay.

[Another one of those pauses as he thinks through it.]

There's four main parts, and some guy called Maxwell made history when he wrote a book about it, cause before then everyone on Earth thought electricity and magnetism were separate.

[He ticks them off on his fingers as he lists them, and pauses between each to 'remember" correctly.]

First, electric charges attract or repel each other with force inversely proportional to the square of the distance between em. Unlike charges attract, and like ones repel.

Second, magnetic poles attract or repel one another, too, and they always come in pairs. Every north pole's yoked to a south pole.

Third, an electric current in a wire creates a circular magnetic field around the wire, and its direction depends on the current.

And last, a current's induced in a loop of wire when it's moved toward or away from a magnetic field- or if a magnet's moved toward or away from it.

I dunno, history's pretty interesting, too. You can figure out a lot of stuff about what's going on now from it.

I guess you're not really the history god, though. Should I ask someone else, instead?

I saw him yesterday, and the ball machine made a crane. He said I had to find out where the paper bird flies.

[Digs in his pocket for a rainbow origami crane.]

But mostly it just falls, so far.

Don't worry. I told Aoi I wouldn't go out past the hall.

[I also told Aoi I wouldn't talk to the gods. And may have gone out yesterday, anyway, but. :x]

...I bet I can take it up to the treetops when I'm bigger. I'd have to make sure it didn't fall all the way down if it doesn't fly, though. Do you think vines'd make a good net?

Maybe I'll try it, then.

[Shuffles a little. :|a]

Hey, uh. Did you mean that about the ice cream?
