Appearance: Kain has a boyish charm and a baby face to match. He's not very physically strong, more lean than built. He has problems keeping his hair out of his face. He looks absentminded but is almost always smiling if a bit confused. He's usually in plain clothes or shirts with a lot of pencils, notes and papers sticking out of all his pockets. He falls asleep at the drop of a hat and a soft, ethereal looking pillow is usually a good sign he’s around somewhere nearby. Characteristics: Absentminded, flighty, dreamy, imaginative, creative, short-attention span, insecure, forgetful, wordy, inspired. Likes: Innovations of any kind but especially technology, knowledge, sharing of information, daydreams and imagination. Dislikes: Destruction of knowledge, murder, broken devices, false information, violence.
Shrine: A 2x2 square feet Rube Goldberg device. Ritual: You start the device by placing pushing the shiny gold ball at the very top of a ramp, which delivers it to a staircase, falls onto a seesaw, sets off a pully system as well as a water powered pump which triggers a set of chimes. Eventually the end of the device drops the original ball into a small wooden cup, which will usually alert Kain's attention. Sacrifices are placed in a small platform above the cup which allows the ball to land on it instead. Please don't try to play around with the shrine, Kain doesn't like that.

[The very first time he spots the ball, his hand hovers over it. It's almost like an inexplicable pull... something he rather knows he shouldn't do but can't help all the same. One can even follow how this drops into that and sets off that, and then THAT moves...




But to DO it. And then to do it with no real object in mind other than to have done it and see what happens in its entirety.

[Going to examine the device a little first, trying to determine where the ball is going to end up and which parts will get it there. Then, gives the ball a little push.]

[He has a fairy light in his right hand, still glowing faintly, and his staff in his left, as usual.]

[just as the ball winds down the last ramp, skipping down a near invisible spiraling wire, a long fingered hand reaches out to catch it before it lands on the wooden cup. As the ball is grasped, it suddenly implodes and then expands, liquefying into a golden gel that dribbles down into the wooden cup.]

Not to mention one messy haired god who does not look pleased with the situation as he appears just outside the area of your chaos. Feel free not to notice him just yet. Who am I kidding, you probably don't even notice the spring sticking into your right buttock at this point.]

[Assuming that the shrine has been, er. reconstructed, a young man sits down after having visited most of the others and taps the ball. He seems... a little tipsy, but generally as collected as he gets.]

... You changed up the bit with the see-saws, didn't you?

[appears sitting next to you on the ground, smiling] Yes. I thought it would be nice to have them upside down. It seems to be more surprising to the viewer if they think the ball is going to fall. I find anticipation to be a great learning device.

[He sets the beetles and a piece of paper into the cup for the ball; the paper contains notes written in a meticulously neat hand, purposefully small to conserve space. They include where he tried to fly the crane from, how far it reached, how high it got, the differences in throw styles and their effects, natural effects versus the effects of his own magic, and so forth. At the bottom, he has indicated the most successful results: from the treetops, with the aid of a vine net to catch the crane after, and using his wind magic to provide lift.]

Indeed. [He reaches behind the shrine and pulls out a simply wrapped package of a hammer, a hand saw, and a box of nails as well as some sheets of sandpaper, because he can be a thoughtful god on occasion]
